My first dr did just that after assuring me when we first met it definitely was not leukemia I ask him 4 times.i fired him the next day.no way to give this kind of news.find a dr you click with and makes time to give you what comes a head. Finding a doctor that you trust and that respects you is top of the list of important things, especially when you are dealing with cancer. A doctor who doesn't even have the time to spare to see you to pass along a tough diagnosis sounds like a doctor that you probably woudln't want to be with long term.
