CML

I was diagnosed in 2001 on April 14th. The doctor's were going to put me on Interferon.
When I walked in the office to start It Dr. Schwartzburg who worked at the West Cancer Clinic. Came in the office and told me a new drug was approved by FDA and did I want to try it. I was the 76th person on it, and still am. It's been a roller coaster sometimes but still around at 72 years..

  1. Rollercoaster that ended good? Hopefully. I have had my own chronic illness for 40 years now and I have been on some of those rides as the first one to get some of the drugs that came out. I was one of the the first ever patients at HSS to get Enbrel. So much so that when it didn't end up working, they asked me to donate my extra so that other patients could try it! So I get it - it can be frustrating and good in equal parts! You are not alone! Keep on keepin' on, DPM
