Living with CLL
I was just diagnosed last May. However I have been anemic for years and have had enlarged lymph nodes on my mammograms for years. (Not to mention labs out of range). My primary care doctor finally sent me to the specialist that I needed. Had biopsy done (no cancer cells noted). Then I was sent to a hematologist to treat the anemia. I have to thank him for doing additional bloodwork that found the CLL.
Finding the right doctor
But I ditched him when he said that I had ‘the good cancer’ and that something else would probably ‘take me out’. I switched doctors to one that really cares. I haven’t had ‘treatment,’ but I do get iron infusions and immunoglobulin infusions.
I get it because I have close friends who have died from cancers, and I have friends that are currently battling cancer. But what I don’t get is…why do we have to wait’ till it gets worse? Why not kick its butt before it’s too late?🤷♀️
