Blood Cancer Changes Us In So May Ways

If you could pick just ONE way that blood-cancer changed your life for the better - What would that be for you.A Pathway To Where

  1. For the better?? Yes I can answer this pretty easily, its really strengthened my faith in god! Oh dont get me wrong, I was so upset, actually mad! How could this happen to me, what did I do to deserve this? I've tried to be a good person and to help others. I've given when the offering plate went by. I had along time to think about this .just as it was with alcohol, god had used it to get my attention! It has strengthened a unbreakable bond between me and him, I know today it was him that left, it was me! I know that whatever happens I'll be ok! Oh dont get me wrong, I have days that make me wish this was all over ,but the good days power them out! I still fall, sometimes pretty hard, but I know how he has put others in my life to pick me back up! I just need to trust in him and let him take the wheel. Oh it's so hard to let go of, but when I do amazing things happen! I've have lost so many amazing friends to this disease and I wonder why he spared me, I remember saying why me? But is it why not me?....

    1. That is exactly what I say! I know that I am strong and can handle whatever comes my way (and I have)!

    2. yes you can!! Thanks for sharing this perspective of strength. You've inspired me, and many others, I'm sure.

    1. I think we all get upset at first, it’s a natural response. You are allowed to be angry, especially if you feel like you don’t deserve this while others who are much worse people get away scott-free!! It can be extremely disheartening. It takes some self-reflection and acceptance to change your mindset and just get on with the business of dealing with the cancer! For me, now that I’m past it, it has made me not really worry about the small stuff. After all, when you are dealing with life and death then being late on your phone bill doesn’t seem like too much of a thing. If there is one silver lining it’s just that - making me able to let most things roll off my back! We may never be able to figure out why us, but we can figure out how to make the best of it! Just know you are not alone! Keep on keepin’ on, DPM

  3. It's definitely made me outspoken or more so.
