MDS with Anemia

I don't know anyone who shares this blood cancer except for one person who wrote in to this group saying this is what they have. I was diagnosed about a month ago. My doctor is keeping track of my hemoglobin but doing nothing else. Should I be concerned? Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Thank you

    1. My doctor is doing the same, watch and wait.

      1. Hemoglobin numbers are a very important part of monitoring what is going on with blood cancer, so it is good that they are keeping on top of it. I know that the mental stress of even hearing the word "cancer" can be shocking, but if you like your doctors and trust them, then that is a good first step. Yes, also, there are many different blood cancers that can "smolder," as it is sometimes called, for years before becoming active. If you can share exactly what you were diagnosed with, if you are comfortable doing that, we can definitely point you in the right direction for more info! If not, that's fine too, you can always come here to be with others who "get" blood cancer! Keep on keepin' on, DPM
