56 years years old and Just been diagnosed with PV blood cancer

I haven't started treatment yet but My concern has been more about how I will feel under treatment since I have to take this treatment for years to come, hopefully for the next 20 years! Im already feeling tired from elevated blood count but generally in good health at the moment. Does anyone have a positive story to share where under treatment for PV they started to feel less tired?

  1. Unfortunately the fatigue that comes with cancer and chemo is real and it is draining. It can last a while, but it's also not necessarily an everyday thing. There came a time for me when I was past it, for the most part, that I was able to have most days where it didn't make things too terribly bad. The down side, though, is that during treatment it probably will be a more constant partner than not. We will be here, though, if you need anything! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

    1. Everyone is so different and the stories may range through the spectrum.
I found diet and exercise made a difference, and gave me a boost of a little bit of energy. Wishing you the very best!

      1. While Cancer is viewed as a physical disease the impact of the diagnosis and subsequent treatments can often play havoc with you both mentally and emotionally and lead to feelings of exhaustion.

I found focusing on the many small positive things in my life along with getting out and walking in nature helped me to feel more upbeat and less fatigued. So agree with on healthy eating and the difference it can make in how you feel. Dennis(Blood-Cancer.com TEAM)
