What's one piece of advice you would give to someone newly diagnosed with blood cancer?

Share your advice below!

  1. I would let them know it's not a death sentence

    1. It can sure feel that way sometimes. It's true though. I've lived with leukemia since 2011 and I'm still here. Life changes, that's true. It still has it's very good days worth fighting for. Life isn't over, it is more challenging and complicated, but it isn't over. Thanks for commenting, Maria.

    2. I live each day as best I can. I try to enjoy each day, each moment each event in my life. I put the cancer and other diseases I've been diagnosed with since a small child on the back burner and just keep living my life. Do what I can when I can. If not able to function that day then I try to enjoy the relaxation n try to pamper myself. Many of us have issues with pampering ourselves but would easily do it for others...are we any less important? I think not...if I can't pamper me n take care of me like I would someone else, then I'm thinking very little of myself.

  2. Question everything! Ask the big and small questions, nothing is unimportant when you are dealing with your health and life. There are no "stupid" questions in this situations.

    1. Thank you for pointing this out. I think many of us are intimidated by doctors, but we can't let that get in the way of finding out important health information. It could be the difference between life and death! Take care, Ronni (team member)

  3. Find a Doctor and Care Team with Extensive Experience in Treating Multiple Myeloma.
