Experiencing Possible Symptoms

Hi everyone I’m 23 years old originally got c diff out of nowhere was not on antibiotics or in a hospital when I had caught it. My first problems started with very heavy and irregular periods and then started having some abdominal pain. I then had some constipation followed by diarrhea which slowly progressed. I was stable with diarrhea for a few days at a time which they thought was IBS until I got very sick one day and a CT scan showed massive Colitis. At first, it was not known what I got sick from but then had a stool sample done which was positive for c diff. I also had a Crohns Disease maker for cal-protection which was 456.

So overall I’ve had 3 C diff relapses, 8 UTIs, and kidney infection (2nd relapse) had a CT scan that showed Colitis and 2 colonoscopies. A pill cam for just the small intestine the first colonoscopy showed hemorrhoids and the second showed inflammation in the rectum but only one biopsy only of the rectum was taken. The upper GI endoscopy showed gastritis and Esophagitis. I also had just recently had surgery for a cystoscope with hydrodistention and biopsy of the bladder. It showed chronic inflammation and was told it was interstitial cystitis and just had an IUD put in.

Another recent CT scan showed enlarged lymph nodes in multiple areas a nodule in the lung which was thought to be lymphoma. More lymph nodes have popped up that I can see one on the neck another on the groin and a lump on my chest which I am not sure if it’s a lymph node or not. I am now in the process of being tested for things that can cause immune system problems and enlarged lymph nodes. I have just gotten a lymph node biopsy which showed a reactive lymph node. My Blood work does have some abnormalities in some levels that were normal but are now mostly consistently abnormal. I also have some fluctuating levels that are sometimes normal and sometimes abnormal BUT have been abnormal multiple times and then some recent newly abnormal levels.

Here are the sometimes abnormal blood but were abnormal multiple times levels blood work:

-High white blood cells, low lymphocytes, high Neutrophils, elevated anion gap, low total carbon dioxide, high MCH, high chloride, high monocytes, high testosterone

-One-time abnormal labs, low Ferritin, high ALT, high AST, High CRP, high AG ratio, high Amylase, high platelets

-Recently abnormal blood work elevated monocytes, high chloride, high AG ratio, and high CH50 level

Here are the levels that are usually consistently abnormal, almost always abnormal (used to be normal):

-Elevated alkaline phosphate
-Low vitamin D
-Low iron saturation
-High calprotectin
-High cortisol
-Low estrogen
-Low progesterone
-Dropping b12 and iron folate levels

Has anyone been diagnosed with blood cancer from any of the symptoms and abnormal blood work I've listed? I would really appreciate the help.

  1. Hi Community, this was the recent question posed to us by one of our community members @Barbara789.While we can't offer medical advice via the internet (for safety purposes), I do hope others hop in with their personal experiences.

Barbara, have you gotten a second opinion?

    1. My wife also ran into CDiff issues out of no where that was followed by Leaky Gut which caused multiple problems - similar to what you described

A lot of this was VERY difficult to pin down and went on for a few years. Often she was finding different MD's were offering conflicting "treatments" and all along she was feeling worse.

For her the best solution came when she used a balanced approach between traditional MD and a functional medicine MD. After that it took her almost a year to get it under control
but now finally is able to enjoy life again.

While no one can or should offer medical advice here it may be good to look into some different approaches and MD's at some point - All the best to you
