Self-Care for Caregivers

While caring for someone with a blood cancer diagnosis, it can be difficult finding time and energy to care for yourself. What are some things you do to care for yourself, destress, and have fun?

  1. Weekly mental health therapy sessions. Netflix and weekly shows.

    1. Hi , It is so good to hear that you attend weekly mental health therapy sessions! If you don't mind me asking, do you attend group, 1 on 1, or both? If both, do you prefer one over the other?

Netflix is a great destresser/fun activity for me as well. Sometimes a like to read a book, but I have always been a bigger fan of cinema. Do you have a favorite show to watch? You could weigh in on our other forum that is about just that topic. Here is the link: https://blood-cancer.com/forums/tv-or-book.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Let us know if you decide to try out yoga!

  2. I find time every morning for me. I listen to podcasts, exercise, and take care of making the special juices I need. The rest of the day I worked and took care of my daughter. Luckily, she's better now.
