CLL Remission: Faith in God and My Doctor

I have chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Receiving a diagnosis

I was walking around with a knot on my neck, didn't feel very good, and I was always weak. I went to the doctor (5/18). My primary doc kept sending me to a specialist.

Anyway, I ended up in the hospital (07/10). The oncologist told me before I got discharged, he promised I would know what was wrong. He came 07/03/18, the day I was getting discharged, and told me I had cancer and that I had had it for awhile.

We'll get through this together

I didn't cry, didn't know what to think. He told me to call his office for an appointment. I did and went through the different procedures. I had 5 different rounds of chemotherapy, only made my cells go down.

He told me "Don't worry, we'll get it figured out together." I'm in remission now. I thank God mostly, but I thank him also for Dr Rivero, the best oncologist I know.

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.
