Looking Good Feeling Good?

I find when you show up looking put together, even when it took a lot of effort to do so, it does something in igniting that spark that is there in your inner core. I know some people feel like the world gets whatever they're in the mood to exude, but do you feel a difference when you get yourself together while battling your condition?

  1. I agree 💯 When I am "put together" makes a huge difference in my attitude and it always has. I may have to push myself a bit but, I do feel better and look better... well, that may be questionable 🤔. If nothing else, I am proud I tried! 😁Which can be a big step toward having a positive self!

    1. Yes, Sophia it's a great feeling if it's at least the smallest effort made to accomplish the push. Wishing you the very best!

  2. I make it a point to be "put together" whenever I visit any professionals office - MD's included.

Like it or not people pick up the many visual and verbal clues we send out. Since they often respond in kind, I figure it never hurts to make a good first impression every time we meet. 😀

    1. That is THE truth.... Doctor's office waiting rooms are an example.

      Another example,.
When taught tips regarding job interviews, I was told, "The most important impression is made within the first one minute of meeting!" Again, important visual and verbal clues! 👍

    2. I couldn't agree with you more. I think it can actually help with your outcome. I don't mean as the dressing up aspect, but trying to change your outlook on what is actually happening, when the med team sees the glimmer of determination, it signals to them to work their best for you too. Yes, good impressions never hurt!

  3. I have to say it makes a difference for me personally to get dressed. When I was inpatient & feeling like 💩 I would give myself a prep talk then take a shower and put some clothes on (no hospital clothes ) that always puts me in better spirits. Even now when I go for check ups to the doctor getting dress makes me feel good and better 💞 for sure a confidence booster.

    1. Exactly, it also allows you to see where you were to where you're at now in handling the storm. The glimmer of hope and confidence is a huge booster, indeed!

  4. I guess I'm on both sides of this. I do feel better when I get dressed while I'm at home or going out for errands or to see people. But when I go to the doctor's office for anything, I feel calmer and safer in comfy clothes. I tend to favor baggy shirts with a sweater on top and sweat pants or comfy pajama pants. It just makes me feel more comfortable. 😀

    1. there’s definitely nothing wrong with that either. Nothing like a baggy comfy shirt 🥰💜

    2. Nothing wrong with either. At the end of the day, you gotta do you. : )
