Mantle Cell Lymphoma Stage 4
I was diagnosed with this rare type of NHL in Oct 2013. I chose to do nothing. From everything I read, MCL becomes chemoresistant and remission is short lived. It was not worth it for me to go through chemo and a BMT to just have it return.
In 2018, I did do radiation to my eyes, parotid glands, and chest. I had tumors wrapped around the aorta of my heart. I also had a permanent pleurx tube placed to drain my right lung.
Facing cancer on my own terms
I have pain but can say hospice has done a great job of managing my pain. I am at peace with my decision not to treat and have no regrets. I have traveled and had good quality time with my family.
I have not let my cancer dictate my life but rather faced cancer on my own terms. I am thankful for every day God gives me. I am so grateful to have found this forum💚
