What is the most confusing part about living with blood cancer?

Finding out you have blood cancer and living with it is a lot to wrap your head around. There are so many confusing pieces like treatment, finances, family, and even emotions. What has been the most confusing part about living with blood cancer?

  1. The most confusing part of living with blood cancer for me is balancing the enjoyment of life with the almost constant uncertainty. What can I do without causing harm to my body? What should I do to help my body live better and longer? How much risk am I taking doing the things I would love to do? There is no manual for living with blood cancer. Some are running marathons while others are barely managing a walk each day. Some are enjoying a beer or glass of wine. Others are strictly avoiding alcohol. Some are eating meat, while others are vegan. 🤔

    1. Well said. It's a tough balance and everyone is different.
I hope you are doing well.

    2. I certainly agree with you. It's drives me crazy when I ask my Oncologist to at least give me an idea of how to deal with the blood cancer in my diet, excersize, sleep, and everything else side effect wise....and they just look at ya and say it will get better in time. Or they break out the prescription book. Like I'm not already taking home half the pharmacy already for who know how long. Best wishes, Shane (Blood-cancer.com team member)

  2. I think the question of how and the heck did I get this in the first place, considering genetically there's no one in the immediate family with this or related cancer. Whenever you ask how did this happen, you get the deer and headlight look, so I gather it's environmental and just my luck. (shoulder shrug)
