Self-Care

How often do you take part in self-care? Do you think it's important to do?

  1. No one knows your body like you do. Deep down we know when something is not quite right. Today you have to be your own advocate everyday. Speak up, listen to and don't ignore the "voices in your head." The key is to act on it. Personally it has helped me many times.
As far as physical self-care ... I believe the more you can comfortably do for yourself the better off you are mentally, physically and emotionally. ... Dennis(Blood-Cancer.com TEAM)

    1. Yes, Indeed Dennis, speaking up helps in getting help.

  2. I need to do more self-care and it is important. You can't take care of anyone if you are not good. I still struggle with this even after what I just wrote crazy! I know!!!! I've never been one to worry about me until after everyone else is taking care of but now I see how not making sure Im good, resting when my body says stop, or just going to do something I enjoy for me time has affected me. I working on doing better at that. There's always that one child in the family that holds everything down and that person is me, The strong one has weak moments as well and needs a break to. To recharge so I can continue to help out.

    1. I think many of us are guilty of doing the most and being there for everyone but ourselves. We just have to remember if we're no longer here those that benefited from us holding it down, will eventually figure it out. Ensuring you're mindful of that makes you look at things a bit differently, so recharge, regroup, and take care of you.
      Best!

  3. - Yup ... and so agree we all need to take a time out for ourselves

    1. It reminds me of those Journey lyrics, "Be good to yourself...nobody else will..." I actually had that written on my facebook profile long before CML came into my life. It's so important to look out for yourself and give yourself a break when it is needed.
