CLL after treatment

I had my last chemotherapy last week
But could not see a massive improvement in my fatigue and lack of energy
I am still feeling tired and my energy at it’s lowest
Any one have the same experience after treatment

  1. Hi! I know a lot of people in our community have spoken about experiencing fatigue for quite a while after treatment. Myself included, it took me a few years to feel "normal" again. Everyone is different though, but chemo is a hard hit to the body and it makes sense that it might take some time. However, if you feel you aren't feeling quite right regardless, it's best to bring it up to your doctor. Otherwise how are you doing? Please keep us updated on your treatment if you feel comfortable doing so. 😀 Warm wishes, Katelynn (Team Member)

    1. Dear Katelyn
Thank you for getting back to me
Some days I feel I am back to normal
Others I feel like I had run the marathon ( tired)
I told my doctor , he ordered several blood tests (VD, VB12,thyroid , )
The results were within the normal range except VD at the lower limit because I can’t expose myself to direct sun light ( the medicine I am on reacts with the sun and cause skin cancer ) I am taking multi vitamins
      Hope it will help
Best wishes to everyone suffering fromCLL

      1. You're so welcome, I'm glad you were able to discuss things with your Doctor. I hope in time the vitamins help as well. 😀 Warm wishes, Katelynn (Team Member)

    2. Congrats on completing chemo!! I know it can be frustrating for the fatigue to linger. There are a lot of articles and discussions with ideas on overcoming fatigue. I'm sharing one of them in hopes it will help you out. https://blood-cancer.com/living/fighting-the-fatigue It's great that you could talk to your doctor as well. Pease reach out any time for support. Most of us have experienced similar things, and there are lots of good suggestions. We'd love to know if/when you find something that works well for you too! Wishing you the best!

      1. My fatigue and nausea and bone pain faded slowly after it peaked about 3-4 days after treatment. When I got the last treatment it just kept fading but it did take a while for the fatigue to finally get to a point where it only happened once or twice a month. I’m not sure if it will ever go away completely but at least it’s bearable now! Keep on keepin’ on, DPM
