Navigating Disability Benefits and Health Challenges

The process of applying for, maintaining, and potentially losing disability benefits can be a stressful and overwhelming experience. Many people living with blood cancer or other chronic illnesses face difficulties when it comes to balancing their health, finances, and the ongoing need for medical care. We invite you to share your experiences and insights into navigating the disability process. Whether you’ve been approved, denied, or are in the midst of a review, your perspective is valuable.

  1. Horrible. They keep turning me down

    1. I know a number of people who were denied a few times over. I know there are law firms that will look at your case and accept it for free to start and if you get approved they take 1/3rd of the back-pay check usually. That clock starts when you apply and usually lasts for 6-8 months. It may be worth considering professional help at this point they know some of the tricks and tips that helped me to get on it! Let us know if there's anything we can do. Keep on keepin' on, DPM

  2. I have multiple myeloma, diagnosed February 5, 2025. I’m still in the initial treatment phase. I also have a significant thoracic vertebrae fracture. I was approved for Social Security disability status today. This information is frightening!
