Blood Cancer and Family

I have seen my mom suffer with blood cancer most of my life with chemotherapy treatments etc. Now I unfortunately am sharing her journey. Hoping a cure is coming soon.

Cure is often seen as the brass ring when dealing with cancer. While that may happen someday, I try to focus on what I have right now ... Remission and that's not too bad. If my cancer has been stopped in its tracks that means I am here enjoying life. Who knows I just may be around if and when that thing called "a cure" becomes reality. I have been reading some optimistic (perhaps unrealistic) reports saying a possible cure for all cancers just might be on the horizon in the next 10 + years. Until then I am taking this one day at a time . Found doing 10 minutes of meditation every morning is helpful during which I tell myself (1) Be Happy (2) Be Safe (3) Be Healthy and (4) Live life caring about those around me . We all hope and pray for a cure. I definitely understand that. I commend you as her daughter for being her support and cheerleader and sharing her journey in the process!! Trust me as a mom who is surviving daily, that is priceless! There are people with no support from their children so keep sharing her journey and being there. Please know that we are here for you! I have 3 different blood cancers. All found by accident. I am still standing with a smile. Bless the Nurses and The Drs. That Deal With This. The Patients and I pray each of those patients has a good support system. If it's not your family ( my 4 brothers can't 'see it' so it doesn't exist' - You go out and make your own family or support system. You Can Live With Cancer. Smile Loudly 😀 I also am a Nurse. Just retired, because of age not cancer.

<inline-mention username="b4uweb" user-id="3638259"/> I get it, I had rheumatoid arthritis for years and then watched my dad get it and then I got lymphoma and then I watched my friend get it. It was starting to feel like I was somehow contagious. 🤔 No, but it is on heck of a mental mind mess to see others whom you love get stricken with something horrible. I would always take it upon myself in a second if I had a choice because I know I can deal with it and I know how to live with it, but that is, unfortunately, not the way life works! Just know you are not alone, though, and if you need anything we are here! Keep on keepin’ on, DPM
