Yes I’m still alive

Got through my last radiation treatment to be told we cannot do anymore. My oncologist says I am way to sick for any treatment and hugged me 4 times before I left his office.
As per hospice MD I’ve been given weeks to live not months. My pain is being managed well and yes I am a bumpy lumpy girl, but really? I have had 5.5 wonderful years , so I achieved my goal. Guess I just can’t believe it.

  1. I am not terminal, but I have been almost dead twice with complications from my other illnesses, so I know a little bit of what you might feel, emotionally. Granted, though, I only had a few minutes to process what I was feeling and you have longer. I have a feeling that most people don’t or won’t know what to say to you, but our job here, no, our speciality here is to talk to people. I think we have exchanged a few posts before, and just know that you have touched my life in a small way. That is something that will last for a long time. I guess what I’m trying to say in my clumsy way is that you aren’t alone in this if you don’t want to be, and that whatever happens, I’ll remember this. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do. DPM

    1. Daniel, I really appreciate your post. Yes tonight is one of those nights that I am up feeling anxious. I took Ativan but feel really uncomfortable. The medicine can’t kick in soon enough.God bless everyone on this board including you for all the encouragement ,

  2. - I don't know if that news is ever something you can really believe. How are we as living beings supposed to grasp that? My hope is that you continue to achieve whatever goals you set, starting now, whatever they may be. Know that my "door" is open if you want to chat about anything at all - You can message me here on the forum, private message on the site, or email (contact@blood-cancer.com). Thank you for always being open on this site and speaking from your experience. As Daniel said, I will remember this. Sending my love <3
